Life just doesn't seem fair.
When we lose someone close, a dear loved one,
it seems that God doesn't care.
Why do things like this have to happen?
It is easy for our minds to doubt.
Start to question our current existence,
and wonder what life is about.
Why do things like this have to happen?
They leave us, going home way too soon.
I can't help but think of a beautiful phrase,
that is sung in a familiar tune:
"Come, come, ye Saints,
no toil nor labor fear;
But with joy wend your way.
Though hard to you this journey may appear, Grace shall be as your day...
...And should we die
before our journey's through,
Happy day! All is well!
We then are free
from toil and sorrow, too;
With the just we shall dwell!"
We can know that they are safe now,
away from their trials and tears.
Their journey has come to an end here on earth,
they have earnestly conquered their fears.
I believe things like this Have to happen,
it's all a part of his Plan.
Though hard it seem for us at times,
He has the faith that we can.
Just think of a life without trials,
not a soul who experiences pain.
But without remorse and confusion,
there really would be nothing to gain.
And if we do question our existence,
and start to wonder what life is about.
We can know with a quiet assurance,
that God loves us, without a doubt.
Now, imagine if they were still with us.
What would they want us to do?
Lose our faith? Lose our hope? Get frustrated?
NO! They would teach us the things that are True!
Of Gods love, and his perfect awareness,
of the flaws and imperfections we hate.
Of the savior and his loving atonement,
His resurrection which opens the gate.
Just like the time they spent teaching,
Testifying of God's great plan.
The one that brings hope to all people.
He's called the Savior of Man.
Through him we can see all our loved ones.
We can know that this life is a test.
What it takes is a constant commitment,
A promise that we'll be doing our best.
If I were to guess what they'd tell us,
if they were here with us today.
It's to "never give up on the faith that you have,
Because that Faith will reunite us one day."
